Janet Reeves is an illustration designer living in Austin, Texas.

She received a BFA with an emphasis in Painting and a minor in Art History at the University of Kansas. Building on that, she then studied computer graphics and web desingn at the Austin Community College, and has a strong background in mural paintings.

Her art fuses line drawings with engaging textures, while presenting subject matter in an abstracted and unique way. Seeking a more intimate relationship with the process of art-making, she allows the artwork to mold itself expressively into a dialouge one might encounter in a personal diary, encouraging impulses on a whim, basking in glorious accidents, and presenting the quesiton "how could I do this wrong" in order to implement truly creative solutions.

Complimenting her art, her other interests include music and the outdoors. She is a member of Minor Mishap Marching Band, a fun and untraditional marching band in Austin, Texas. Furthermore, she is a strong advocate of all creative therapies such as yoga, music therapy, art therapy, and meditation. She is a Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher and is currently pursuing a masters in music therapy in order to work with people in medical settings.
